The recent manure gas fatality in Portage County, Wisconsin has prompted important questions about gases associated with pumping, agitating, and handling manure on farms. We've spent extra time investigating this incident which is relatively unique to Wisconsin since it occurred outside a pit, building or other confined structure. We've become more aware of other outside incidents in other states since this event occurred on August 15, 2016.

An educational webinar will be held on Thursday, September 8, 2016 from 11:00 am – 12:00 noon CDT.  Please visit the UW Center for Agricultural Safety and Health web page announcement for all information including the LINK to sign up and participate.
